Job Role : Technical writer 

Roles 

  • You will create and update release notes, online help, and operational guides that are effective and clear. 
  • Working with subject matter experts, you will develop documentation from existing content and coordinate teams to ensure documentation is delivered for release.

Responsibilities 

  • Managing own time effectively to ensure assigned work is completed on schedule, according to productivity targets, and within budget.
  • Navigate multiple file formats, including Web sites, compiled Help, formatted technical and marketing documentation, and training.
  • Participate in the Agile product development process as a member of multiple cross functional teams to develop an understanding of product requirements.
  • Produce accurate documentation that conforms to company style, format, process, guidelines, in addition to standards for the assigned product(s).
  • Research of the latest tools, technologies, procedures, and standards identified by Finastra.
  • Taking ownership of all documents and deliverables for multiple products. This includes planning documentation deliverable(s) for a project, producing and updating estimates, and providing timely and accurate reporting of status to the commissioning Project Manager.
  • Responsible for documentation process development. and suggesting procedural enhancements and efficiencies.
  • Responsible for version control of documents using relevant tools.
  • Demonstrating strong proficiency in English language usage skills.
  • Liaising with product management, developers, legal and other stakeholders for content input and document reviews to ensure that product functionality is well documented.
  • Proactively understanding changes to project scope and making relevant changes to the documentation.
  • Providing peer review support for work produced by team members and reviewing use of relevant documentation standards for other teams.
  • Maintaining awareness of documentation trends in the industry to suggest and help implement relevant enhancements.

Required Experience

  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills, self-motivated, detail-oriented and can work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to describe and communicate a process, system and/or product in an organized professional document.
  • Desire and ability to take ownership of documentation-related projects.
  • Knowledge of documentation process, including writing, editing, graphics, production, Help authoring and information design.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Willingness and desire to grow and develop in a fast-paced, exciting environment.
  • Must have a portfolio of work that demonstrates excellent writing skills and financial experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with Robohelp, or similar help authoring tool.
  • Experience documenting APIs and/or financial products is highly desirable.
  • 2 - 5 years of technical writing or equivalent experience writing customer-facing software documentation. Financial software experience is preferred.
  • BA/BS degree.
