KSRTC SWIFT, a Kerala Government Institution, has announced vacancies for the post of Driver Cum Conductor on a contract basis. The selected candidates will be employed under the service wage conditions prescribed by KSRTC SWIFT. The applicants are required to enter into a contract and pay a security deposit of Rs.30,000. This deposit will be refunded after completion of temporary service, minus any deductions for losses incurred.
Qualifications and Work Experience:
- Candidates must possess a Heavy Driving License as per MV Act 1988. If selected, they must obtain a conductor license from the Motor Vehicle Department within the specified time.
- A minimum of 10th class pass from a recognized board is required.
- Applicants must have at least five years of driving experience in heavy passenger vehicles with more than thirty seats.
- The age limit for the position is between 24 and 55 years as of the last date of application submission.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of vehicle operation and troubleshooting minor faults is desirable.
Other Conditions:
- Applicants should have sufficient health and eyesight to work up to 10 hours, as certified by a Government Doctor of at least the rank of Civil Surgeon or Chief Medical Officer.
- Basic arithmetic skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, are required.
- Proficiency in reading and writing Malayalam and English is necessary.
- Selected candidates must provide a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) from their local police station.
Selection Process:
- The selection process involves a driving test conducted by the Selection Committee and an interview.
- A rank list of successful candidates will be published based on the results of these processes.
- Temporary appointments will be made as and when vacancies arise, based on the rank list's order of merit.

Important Provisions:
- Existing employees of KSRTC may also apply and agree to accept the terms of service of KSRTC SWIFT. The security deposit is not applicable to KSRTC employees.
- Employees with five or more years of experience in KSRTC will be given preference.

Conditions of Pay:
- Those selected from outside the daily wage system will receive a wage of Rs.715 for 8 hours of duty, with an additional Rs.130 per hour as overtime allowance.
- Incentive allowances and benefits will be provided as per the existing scheme in SWIFT.
Terms of Service:
- Duty patterns, route selection, and other decisions will be determined by the management, and strict compliance is required.
- The employees are responsible for maintaining cleanliness, displaying destination boards, and wearing the prescribed uniform while on duty.
- Passengers' safety and comfort should be prioritized, and special attention should be given to elderly, disabled, and other passengers requiring assistance.
- Damage to buses or repeated misconduct by employees may result in disciplinary action and penalties.
KSRTC employees appointed on working arrangement deputation will continue to receive their current salary along with special allowances and incentives from SWIFT. The terms and conditions of the agreement may be amended as per public interest.
