Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a renowned Maharatna Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has announced the engagement of apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The apprenticeship program is set to last for one year and will be conducted in the Southern Region-II, encompassing the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Kerala.

Interested and eligible candidates are invited to submit their applications online from 1st July 2023 to 31st July 2023. POWERGRID is seeking promising, energetic, and bright candidates for various trades in its Southern Region-II. The number of training slots available for each trade is provisional and subject to change based on the actual requirements and reservation guidelines specified in the Apprentice Act 1961.

Karnataka - ITI (Electrician) - 2 slots, Diploma (Electrical) - 5 slots, Diploma (Civil) - 3 slots, Graduate (Civil) - 2 slots, Graduate (Electrical) - 12 slots, CSR Executive - 1 slot, Law Executive - 1 slot, PR Assistant - 1 slot, HR Executive - 2 slots.
Tamil Nadu - ITI (Electrician) - 7 slots, Diploma (Electrical) - 18 slots, Diploma (Civil) - 9 slots, Graduate (Civil) - 3 slots, Graduate (Electrical) - 17 slots.
Puducherry - Diploma (Electrical) - 1 slot, Graduate (Electrical) - 1 slot.
Kerala - ITI (Electrician) - 3 slots, Diploma (Electrical) - 6 slots, Diploma (Civil) - 2 slots, Graduate (Civil) - 2 slots, Graduate (Electrical) - 7 slots.
Eligibility criteria to apply
Candidates must meet the specified eligibility criteria, including holding a government-recognized degree/diploma/certificate in the relevant trade and being medically fit as per the provisions of the Apprentice Act, 1961. Candidates should have completed their final examinations within two years from the closing date of the application.
Selection process
Shortlisting of candidates will be based on the percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed qualification for the respective trade. Shortlisted candidates will undergo document verification, and upon successful completion, they will be issued letters of engagement.
Interested candidates should register themselves on the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) website or the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) website, depending on their trade. After obtaining the registration/enrollment number, candidates can apply on the POWERGRID website.
The opening date for applications is 1st July 2023, and the closing date is 31st July 2023.
