In a bid to compete with its affordable transportation option, UberX, Uber has announced a price reduction for its environmentally conscious product, Uber Green, in Dubai. This move is part of Uber's commitment to reducing emissions and encouraging riders to choose greener alternatives.
Uber Green trips emit at least 25 percent less carbon dioxide compared to the average ride, making it an attractive option for environmentally conscious riders in the UAE. The pricing adjustment aligns with the UAE's net zero strategy, aiming to have one in four Uber app journeys in the country be emission-free by 2030.

By opting for an Uber Green ride, passengers contribute to reducing air pollution and their own carbon footprint. These rides exclusively use 100 percent electric vehicles, ensuring zero exhaust emissions and promoting cleaner air quality.
Pia El Hachem, General Manager of Uber in the UAE and Levant, highlights sustainability as a top priority for the company. Uber aims to make environmentally friendly options more accessible to a wider community, supporting the goals of COP28 and accelerating global emissions reductions.
In addition to the price reduction, Uber has made a global commitment to becoming a zero-emissions platform by 2040. To facilitate this transition, the company has allocated $800 million in resources over the next five years to support drivers in adopting clean energy solutions.
By choosing Uber Green, riders actively participate in creating a greener city, reducing their environmental impact, and contributing to a more sustainable future. Uber encourages riders to embrace greener transportation options and supports their journey towards a zero-emissions future.
