Digital India Corporation, an initiative by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, has announced vacancies for the position of Software Developer (Magento Developer) on a Contract/Consolidated basis. The Corporation, working towards driving the Digital India program, aims to innovate, develop, and deploy ICT and emerging technologies for the benefit of the common man.

Digital India Corporation is involved in spearheading the Digital India program of the Government of India and promotes the use of technology for various sectors, including e-Governance/eHealth, Telemedicine, e-agriculture, and e-Payments. The program focuses on addressing safety and security concerns in a growing cashless economy and promotes participatory governance and citizen engagement through digital initiatives and social media platforms.
The Corporation is now inviting applications for the position of Software Developer (Magento Developer) on a Contract/Consolidated basis. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing eCommerce solutions on the Magento platform. This includes customizing Magento Themes/Modules, integrating Magento with third-party systems, and ensuring optimal performance and security configurations. The Software Developer will also be involved in troubleshooting issues during development or after deployment, participating in code reviews, and handling multiple projects with strict adherence to deadlines.
Candidates applying for the position should have a B.E/B. Tech/MCA degree from a recognized university, along with 2-3 years of hands-on experience with the Magento platform. In-depth knowledge of Magento's code structure, extension architecture, theming hierarchy, and caching mechanisms is essential. Expertise in customizing Magento's front-end components using layout XML, blocks, templates, and JavaScript, as well as experience with Magento's back-end modules and APIs (including SOAP and REST), are highly desirable. Familiarity with MySQL databases and the ability to write efficient SQL queries are also required skills.
Preferred qualifications include experience with other eCommerce platforms such as Shopify, Big Commerce, or WooCommerce, CS-cart, Opencart, and knowledge of PHP frameworks like Laravel, Zend, or Symfony. Candidates with experience in managing the order fulfillment process (from order creation to product shipment) will also be given preference.
